I received a message from Mr Blue in Vegas. A “Kate Miller” contacted him via email today to “warn” him that I mention his blog here in my own blog. The lengths people will go through to try to make a wave in my life are amazing. Even Mr Blue was surprised when I told him I have received a lot of negative feedback recently. He simply told me it is just a lot of drama over nothing.
Why do I offend/scare people so much that they feel threatened and lash out?
Perhaps, even people in my own town of Eugene!
Since I have returned to Oregon from Vegas, I have only danced one night in Eugene. My vacation reaffirmed that I do not belong in Oregon full time and people here do/will not understand my dreams of more then children and a family or corporate America (the American dream). My life has become nomadic again, but in a somewhat familiar way. I like being in different cities, working in different clubs, and seeing different people. This freedom has lead me back to working in Salem and Portland. Knowing this is my means to an end is my motivation.
Palm trees by Christmas is the goal!
It is nice to have Eugene back to just my hometown, rather then my workplace. Driving home on Sundays is almost like taking a vacation. A few days to recharge and reconnect with the real world is amazing after living/working in fantasy land.
Rarely do I interact with a reader who contacts me via facebook, twitter, or tumblr, but on occasion I find someone who is not just looking to waste my time. When someone can appreciate my dream without judgement, I can respect their dreams as well. It is a two-way street, as with anything.
This past weekend I danced in Portland and invited a reader to come into the club to visit. It is always nice to meet people in person. It does take a special person to make me want to go out on a limb though.
Thank you TH for making it a pleasant experience!
