“There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes his whole universe for a vast practical joke.” ~Herman Melville
The VIP Exclusive Fashion Show(http://www.vip-exclusive.org) was held in Tampa, Florida on July 25th. This event was designed for the enjoyment of all by the owner: Terrance Shaw(@Vip_Exclusive). Terrance chose to incorporate all different styles of designers, models, and different types of entertainment than one would normally expect at the average fashion show. This added to the creativity and excitement of the event. Also, specifically the models themselves were of all types: Short, Tall and Petite. The message Terrance delivered to the audience was, “Dreams can come True!” He started the show off with a very powerful quote by a designer from the VIP Exclusive Fashion Show in Tampa, David President, who has an enlightening story behind his line.
“Walk by faith not by sight.” ~David President.
U.S. Gold and Silver Inc.(http://www.usgoldandsilver.org) sponsored VIP Exclusive Fashion Show in Tampa. Joseph Rainier, CEO of U.S. Gold and Silver, attended the event as an active title sponsor and provided two rings to be awarded to the winners. He takes part in sponsoring events like these, “…to help charities and advance careers of models and designers.” The opportunities at the VIP Exclusive Fashion Shows are also there by design.
“We are known for connecting businesses and models with new opportunities at our events.” ~Terrance Shaw
Terrance Shaw’s willingness to work with a dynamic mixture of models and sponsors creates a melting pot of opportunities. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow and appreciate the beauty in the world, whether a model, designer, or sponsor contact VIP Exclusive Fashion(firstname.lastname@example.org). They hold fashion shows nationwide with upcoming fashion shows soon to be held in Virginia and New York.
The last thing I expected to see at VIP Exclusive Fashion Show in Tampa, Florida was an amazing pole dancer and singer duo. Jacqueline Valdez(@ElegantJacqueline) and Jason Rex began the fashion show setting the tone for the event. Jacqueline Valdez elegantly worked the pole and floor while Jason Rex, a power vocalist, expressed his passion and emotion through song. This dynamic duo was much unexpected. However, it did add to the buzz and excitement of VIP Exclusive Fashion Show, just as Terrance Shaw had anticipated and planned.
Jacqueline Valdez and Jason Rex combined their talents to create Infusion Remax(@InfusionRemax). They have much success to come in their near future with blossoming talent and career minds. Look for them to appear in Vegas soon. They are such a unique collaboration. The talent they have is powerfully raw, rare, and yet amazingly harnessed.
This was the beginning of my adventures for my September column of Strip Club Journals Unbound. I had thought this was going to be my jump into mainstream media. However once I arrived at the fashion show, after an extremely long airport day(DO NOT FLY @AmericanAir & @USAirways #MergerGoneWrong), I realized the need mainstream society has to resemble the adult industry to varying degrees, to which they deem to be acceptable. Everyone wants to feel special and/or fancy. The mainstream just has glamorous misconceptions of the adult/entertainment industry and the lives we actually lead and/or live.
These delusions were put quickly to rest when I traveled back to Oregon to cover the Vagina Beauty Pageant. Add the word vagina to an adult industry event and all of a sudden the glamour is completely taken away. Perhaps, that is how we adult industry people weed the mainstream from some events. Knowing that in doing so it will be a liberal freedom enhancing experience, rather than a shameful experience one must recover from.
Dick Hennessy(@DJDickHennessy) created The Vagina Beauty Pageant six years ago. The name of the pageant alone has given it a stigma that probably makes many national and international writers anxious to touch due to its nature and subject matter. However, this is exactly the kind of event I look for in the adult industry. “Controversy causes readership,” is my motto and going out of my own comfort zone makes me grow as an individual, so this was a win-win situation. I even had to go out of my own comfort zone for this one, a rarity with my own background in the adult industry.
“The fact that I get paid for one of my passions in life is amazing to me.” ~Noel(Eugene, Oregon)
The Vagina Beauty Pageant allowed me to reconnect with some of the strippers I met when I entered the adult industry in small town Oregon. Reconnecting with my roots also made me face just how liberal Oregon remains. The one thing I learned going to one preliminary round and the finale of the Vagina Beauty Pageant was that the first amendment gives women in Oregon strip clubs the right to insert things into themselves. This is a random fact that was burned into my eyes and soul to be remembered forever.
The adult industry never stops amazing me. Yes it is amazing to be a part of it all, but there will always be moments where the adult industry shocks everyone merely by design and nature.
Special warm thank you to Embrace Beauty Magazine (@embracebeautym) for catching me with my notepad in hand and Kento Kawakami Photography (http://www.kentokawakami.com) for the photos from Vip Exclusive Fashion Show in Tampa and Infusion Remax.
Next month look forward to my first PANDA interview(http://www.pandamembers.org), catch up with Christian Desire of Magic Mike XXL(IG @MiamiModelo), and The Male Encounter Show(the group Channing Tatum performed with). Also, keep an eye/ear out for my radio segment #ZsAreTheFactsWithZiFi on Adventures of The Mayor(@EAFLOWS).
While at the Vip Fashion Show in Tampa, Florida(#viprunwaytpa), many people I met while networking were shocked by my career. All the glamorous people, moments, and things made their eyes light up with fantasies. The thoughts of the hours of hard work I put in alone at home in Oregon or Vegas, or on the road and in airports go unseen. Let alone the years I put in strip clubs working as a stripper to fund my passion of writing.
People have viewed my job as glamorous for years so this is not a new occurrence and something I have dealt with in the past. I started this blog years ago, while still actively stripping in the adult industry, to inform people about the “glamorous” life. A lifestyle they think is beyond a dream come true.
Well as a female journalist in the adult industry, let me inform you it is not all fun and games. Hard work is the only way to get to the top of any industry. We all just work in very different ways!
When I returned home from the Oregon Country Fair, I spent almost a whole week working on my writing deadlines, public relations and promotions. A week spent in front of the computer, I had come full circle. From working in an office for a corporation after college, before stripping, to now working for myself, but back to sitting in front of a computer. It is irony, but I do love and vale my freedom!
I am still in shock at all that has happened this month. My column, “Strip Club Journals Unbound,” going national is the biggest opportunity I have experienced in years. The next few months will be defining in my career as a writer and it may even effect my sugar life as well. Who knows, because anything is possible. Accomplishing a dream is a great feeling!
Celebrating this accomplishment with others is very difficult. I do not know if it is me or if other people just cannot fathom my excitement because they have nothing to compare it to that is relatable. Having children and breeding is the closest thing I can compare my writing to. My writing is something I have created, manifested, nourished, and worked on without appreciation much like a parent with a child.
Perhaps, I should have a birthday party for my writing career so people will understand its importance to me?!? Smh
How would you celebrate? Please comment below I am open to ideas! ;)
