“I’m Sorry, Have a Good Day”

Unlike most Friday nights it was slow at Stars. There was an eerie feeling in the club that night, and not many regulars in the building. We were all working the night away, I was sitting on the smoking deck when I heard the first shots fired. Nobody knew what had happened, then a few more shots fired, everybody started running for whatever exit they could reach, or ducking behind any shelter they could find. Within minutes the police had blocked all exits (including the road) and were holding all staff and entertainers in the locker room till they took statements. One man died on the floor that night, three more injured.

The next morning as I was trying to piece together why somebody would do something of this nature, I had reached out to a couple (male) friends for comfort.

One friend “Well that sucks (referring to the shooting), when can I come fuck that pu$$y?”(Obviously not a comforting statement after being in such close proximity to such a violent, careless act.)

Another friend “I’m sorry, have good day.”…

I had already felt that, as a (PERSON) dancer, many people didn’t truly value/care for me (or my life). This was the day that “feeling” changed to knowing it was true.

I had already decided I was going to retire from (exotic) dancing soon, after witnessing that (and feeling completely alone through it) I decided “soon isn’t soon enough”, and started separating myself from the club I had been at almost four years. I felt alienated by so many that I once considered to be like family.

After making statements about my personal feelings about working in the adult industry (online) I began to receive severely negative attention from co-workers, other entertainers, even a few men. Women I had worked with (for years) began verbally attacking me and spreading rumors about me (which was never a problem previously).

At this point I had already been named a finalist in “Polerotica” the “Vagina Beauty Pageant” and now “Miss Exotic Oregon” (all hosted by Dick Hennessey and Exotic Magazine).  I had to go out with something to show for all the time and effort I’d put into it.

My time at Stars was coming to an end (quickly), I left Stars in early September to see if there was a club that fit my (financial, and spiritual) needs better. I went to the Lucky Devil lounge in Portland, then to the Firehouse Cabaret in Salem. Both had a much better (less hostile, or aggressive) vibe as far as I’m concerned.

It still wasn’t satisfying my spiritual needs. Which were (are) to feel cared for and financially independent. I’ve never been one to take advantage of people, and I don’t feel that accepting money from men (or women) in exchange for provocative, nude entertainment is doing such. I do however feel that it gives men a control over me that I am just not comfortable with.  I started the job search process in October and had a hard time finding anything due to my “lack of experience” over the last years. Finally I was hired at a call center, and that’s where I’m at now.

Moving Four Times in 40 Days

Vegas House
One Vegas Rental House

The past few months have been filled with travels, but unlike usual this time I was not just traveling:  I was moving. This means I have had no home for this time period(40 days may seem short, but it felt like a whole separate lifetime). People tend to forget the stress of not having the security of a home, real meals, and sleeping in your own bed. Especially, when they are used to you traveling often. People take for granted what they do not know is sacred until it is taken away. I went from having three homes in two different states to homelessness, half by design and half by life lessons and poor choices. And to top it all off, finances had absolutely no part in the equation.

Finally this past weekend, I moved into my own condo in Vegas. This is the first time I have lived alone since I stripped in small town Oregon. It is extremely ironic, after I disappear for over a year to recover from stripping, people still expect the actions of a stripper out of me. In actuality it is the complete opposite. I just want to write and cook casseroles in my pajamas with my puppy at home. I worked for years in small town Oregon from 10pm-2am almost every night to get to where I am today. People do not see the hard work I have put in to be where I am today and often they take my efforts in vain and/or for granted. No I do not want to go out at night to get drunk and talk to people because that feels like stripping with my clothes on. Who wants to work for free?!? I drank mostly to forget stripping and make it the most profitable experience as possible. Why do people who live ordinary lives expect people in the adult industry to not have the desire or need for a little ordinary too?

Employees Continue To Get Paid At Realty Edge

@RealtyEdgePDX
@RealtyEdgePDX

The employees at Realty Edge in Clackamas, Oregon still continue to get paid, while I am told to wait for my back monthly allowance for being a stay at home girlfriend, relocating, and not stripping. Funny because I even waited till tax quarter to leave when he would deposit a large sum into our joint account. I can only assume why this was a reoccurring theme four times a year.

Within a couple of days of our restraining order being lifted, I got a phone call from my mother informing me that Tim(aka Tae Roh) visited her and threatened that I may face legal ramifications if I did not remove some of the truths about his business off my blog. Well, unfortunately when you date a writer and underestimate her, you allow yourself to be exposed. For people who chose to lead double lives this is just not kosher.

I thought I was an actress in this whirlwind we call life but I am realizing more and more how the corporate world is more two-faced then a stripper on a Friday night preying on drunk men. Tim(aka Tae Roh) represents all the sugar daddies out there that cannot understand without money they would not be surrounded by half the people around him. Employees may act like friends but that is apart of the corporate show they all put on. Let us be honest with ourselves about who is around and why? And are you messing with an employee who is married, well that is wrong in my adult industry perspective. I can only imagine what “mainstream” people would say or speculate.

So to a business man his work will always come first, because there are no legally binding papers that hold him accountable in a relationship besides marriage or a domestic partnership. Guess I am lucky that I never signed a NDA, but he was never smart enough to ask me to. In the beginning of our relationship I had no clue how controlling and inhumane he would be so I would have gladly signed it. Just as I took his word that he would take care of me financially and I relocated to Portland Oregon and stopped stripping, which took away my largest source of instant income, which was what my monthly allowance was to make up for. Allowance monthly was by design so I would never be stuck with a man for his money. Well now he is trying to keep me stuck in his life by withholding my back allowance and I have to play nice in hopes of him keeping his word. Which so far seems tainted when it comes to relationships and financial security and personal financial independence other than his own.

When you date a younger woman and promise to take care of her financially you need to keep that promise even if she wants to leave because no one should be around another for just money. And why would Tae Roh want a relationship based on the power of witholding money when I was just fine financially before him and spent more money and retained my freedom. Plus, he calls my best career year, the year when I stayed home to learn to be a housewife. How insulting! Women like me have no problem leaving a man in the dust, but she will get what she has earned.

Strip Club Journals Unbound-America’s Herbal Dilemma(Layout)

America’s Herbal Dilemma

@Native_Flowerz

Marijuana has made its way to mainstream American society’s attention. This time armed with more information, data, and research than previously during the baby boomer hippie counterculture era. Legal and medical marijuana surround Americans, even in more conservative states where marijuana is still frowned upon with felonies and many other consequences and/or rehabilitation programs. Nowadays, the medical benefits of marijuana are becoming well-known. Even enough to allow some incredibly ill children to live a full life, that they would otherwise be robbed of without medical marijuana(CBD). Legal now in four states Oregon, Colorado, Alaska, Washington and the District of Columbia and marijuana(or decriminalized marijuana) is available in 23 states and the District of Columbia. California state started this all in 1996.

As a native of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, marijuana has been apart of my adult life from the beginning. It was a cash crop when I was growing up and it is almost apart of our culture here in Oregon. So, to see the nation more in “the know” is extremely refreshing. We are not all lazy stoners as many try to stigmatize us. We are just people. Shocking I know! How can we not be the evil lazy people the government has made us out to be?

Some of us are just medical marijuana patients not looking to get strung out on legal pharmaceuticals. Natural and organic versus made in a lab with unknown chemicals and fillers, this seems extremely logical. Avoiding fast food and other pollutants does not help anyone to be healthy if they are filling their body with pharmaceutical pollutants. Chemicals are just bad, a capitalized industry that aims to keep you a customer.

“In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death. Marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis marijuana can be safely used within the supervised routine of medical care.” ~Francis Young [DEA Administrative Law Judge – 1988]

Marijuana is an herb, just as tea. Some days I drink tea, some days I drink coffee. This is no different than a glass of wine after work versus smoking a joint after work. Different strokes for different folks. Prohibition has never been a successful tactic. Yet, we still utilize it as a capitalist government industry.

Legalization of marijuana has had some kinks, example Washington state, but it has had some success helping state economies as well, example Colorado. After the war on drugs no longer involves marijuana then we will be able to focus more on legalization and taxes, rather than courts, fines, and jail time. Make money rather than spend money.

“Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural?”  ~Bill Hicks

Medical marijuana seemed to be the best middle ground for those of us looking for more than recreational use, without jail time or other life-long consequences. I speak from personal experience:  in Oregon I was caught with marijuana. Due to it being in hash form(manufactured), I am now a felon for life. Yes for marijuana, a plant. Forever, people look at me differently when I fill out applications at social institutions like my condo building and job applications/licenses, etc. In Oregon people tend to look at me with sympathy. However, in Texas they stared at me and said I would still be in jail if I had been caught in Texas. Reality is relative. Yet, it is a stigma marijuana users nationwide risk without the ability to obtain medical or legal use of marijuana.

Marijuana growers and dispensaries have the difficult job of walking the fine lines the government draws out state by state. Varying rules and regulations on medical marijuana depend on state laws. However, federal law trumps state law, so there is a forever loophole in medical and legal marijuana. The federal government retains the right to seize assets of those involved in drug cases, therefore growers and dispensaries have the most on the line for the freedom of us all.

Why such a stink about a plant (pun intended)? So many people are involved in consensual crimes within the United States every year. Can we stop prosecuting marijuana users and growers to focus on hard drugs or other social issues?
