Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet Lynn Vega(@Lynnvegaxxx) on set of a girl-girl content shoot. She is a tiny little thing who entered the adult industry as a webcam model in 2013. With a BA in early childhood education the adult industry is not somewhere I would expect to find her.
At the 2015 AE Expo in Las Vegas, Lynn Vega was discovered. Out of the thousands of beautiful women walking the convention floors of the Hard Rock Hotel, she was picked out of the crowds by Girlfriend Films(@GF_Films) to do a girl-girl scene. The next month, Lynn Vega made her way to Los Angeles to do her first girl-girl scene and her entrance into the adult film industry was made. This is the most graceful entrance I have heard. Especially because after Lynn did her first scene she took a six month break from shooting to see if adult films were really for her.
Now two years later Lynn has established herself in the adult industry and continues to search for her niche. Although, she did mention how her Skype dates and custom videos keep her pretty busy. Lynn pushes the boundaries on being a virtual girlfriend. She had me blushing with her creativity and use of technology.
Check out her website and taste a little of what she has to offer.
Ivan of the Puba Network(@IamIvanxxx) introduced me to Arika Lane (@AkiraLane) who introduced me to Migliori personal lubricant. All this took place while enjoying the XRCO awards on the patio at Ohm nightclub in Hollywood, California. It is like living a domino effect in real-time. Every adult industry gathering provides for great networking opportunities.
Migliori products make me excited(pun intended).
Finally, a lube that addresses the fact women need to moisturize from the inside. I have searched for a lube with additional health benefits besides making bedroom fun more pleasurable. Over the years, I have found coconut oil to be the best lube and great for moisturizing with many other health/beauty benefits. However, the downside is coconut oil can cause holes in condoms or for them to completely break. This is a huge drawback to using coconut oil as lube and internal moisturizer, because no one wants to use a condom just to have it break and/or get a hole.
My lube research adventure begins. Wish me luck and please reach out to tell me how you decide what lube to use? What is your favorite brand? Why? What do you expect out of your lube?
The 33rd annual XRCO awards were held April 27th in Hollywood, California at the OHM nightclub. As the AVN Awards are the “Oscar’s of Porn”, the XRCO Awards are the “Academy Awards of Porn”. This adult industry awards show is voted on by only adult industry members. Thus, making it an experience of who is who within the adult industry.
The XRCO voters are a group of writer and editors within the adult industry called the American X-Rated Critics Organization. In 1984 when the XRCO awards began, the American X-Rated Critics Organization was only an American based group of voters. However over the years, they have evolved into an international organization. All members of the X-Rated Critics Organization are active members of the adult industry. Thus, making the XRCO awards unique and one of a kind.
“Another great High school reunion of jocks, cool kids, dorks, and that one “medicated” chick crawling around on the dirty concrete. Can’t wait for another reunion!” ~Ivan, The Puba Network (@IamIvanxxx)
As an adult industry journalist, this was first awards show I attended as a guest rather than as press. The differences were astounding. I normally attend adult industry events alone. Award shows are work and not a social function. However this time, I allowed myself the opportunity to enjoy the XRCO awards show as a social function with a slight agenda to capture the events of the night.
Holly Hendrix was one of the favorites of the night. She won the 2017 XRCO “Superslut” award. This matched with her 2017 AVN award for “Best New Starlet” put her on the list of adult actresses to keep an eye on. Greatness awaits her if her she keeps herself in the favor of the adult industry votes and the fan votes. What a great way to start a career and what a beautiful little lady!
Briana Banks won the “Best Cumback” award for 2017. She is represented by OC Modeling and had many great things to say when she found out she was an award winner.
“I’m thrilled to have won this award, I put all my heart and energy into my comeback. I have to thank all the directors that continue to use me in their productions, my publicity team, Star Factory PR, and all the reviewers who are part of the XRCO for recognizing my performances. I have a lot of exciting projects on the horizon, and I can’t wait to share them with everyone.”~Briana Banks
Kleio Valentien took home the award for “Best Actress” for playing Harley Quinn in the adult movie “Suicide Squad XXX: An Axel Braun Parody”. “Best Actor” awards went to Tommy Pistol for his role in the same movie: Suicide Squad XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. Plus, shockingly enough, “Suicide Squad XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” won the award for “Best Parody”. Also, director Axel Braun won “Best Director (Parody)”. If this many people within the adult industry think this movie and its performers are this great it is probably worth giving a whirl.

As with every adult industry event I learn more about myself than the adult stars I go to research and study. This specific Thursday night in Hollywood with the walk of fame stars on the sidewalks, the fresh spring air mixed with the smell of marijuana, and my “Entitled Writer” shirt on I realized I may be an adult industry journalist, but I will always be on the outside looking in. My roots maybe in the adult industry, but I never made the leap to in front of the camera and onto film. This is a fine line that makes a world of difference within adult industry niches.
How far is one willing to take the adult industry to get fame, fortune, and a career they can retire off of in such a taboo manner? The envelope will continue to be pushed with the test of time, but let us take a moment to celebrate all the individuals who make their career out of pushing the envelope. Without these people we as a society would be lost!
Exxxotica Denver began on the last day of March(aka my birthday). So on my birthday morning, I jumped on an airplane to Denver from Las Vegas. An adult industry convention is always an adventure. The adult stars and the excitement fill the atmosphere with high energy and once in a lifetime experiences. It is a weekend to shine for many adult entertainers. A weekend to network and monetize their career with a sprinkle of instant gratification. The adult industry Exxxotica conventions happen three times yearly in different locations(Chicago and New Jersy are the other 2017 locations). They are a smaller version of the AEE and AVN week, but they allow for more interaction due to the intimate setting. Exxxotica Denver was the perfect place to actually interact with the stars.
“Great town, amazing weekend and convention!!” ~Dominic DiLorenzo (@WeAre321Music)
The devoted fans had no qualms about dressing up even though the weather was not accommodating. I experienced snow for the first time this winter and it was on April first in Denver(maybe it was Spring). Some of my adult industry friends from Florida had not seen snow in years! These conventions are a great way for us who work in the adult industry to have a well-rounded career and personal life. We get to experience things outside of our everyday norms and are lucky enough to be surrounded with an adult industry community.
Society loves to hate the adult industry. Therefore we must take extra care to be kind and loving of our peers. The adult industry wars against society together in many different ways. There is a level of respect, compassion, empathy, and love that people who work in the adult industry retain. We have the ability to empathize with each other more than we can relate to a civilian(someone who has never been in the adult industry).
“I hope we return to Denver next year! Denver was so welcoming and I met so many new friends! I would love this location to be annual because I want to re-live that weekend all over again! It was one of my favorite Exxxoticas of ALL TIME!” ~Shawna Lenee (@ShawnaLeneeShow)
Meeting new people was a theme of this convention. As an adult industry journalist, I attend many adult industry functions. At Exxxotica Denver I was lucky enough to really get to interact with others who work in the adult industry. There are a lot of adult industry people who I basically stalk at these functions for a career.
My stalking award for Exxxotica Denver goes to Ivan(@IamIvanxxx) co-owner of the Puba network, director, and 2016 AVN Award winner for Best Web Director. Ivan first caught my eye on the red carpet at the AVN nomination party at the Avalon in Hollywood(Nov 2016). I had no clue he was so fancy and talented, but after connecting with him at Exxxotica Denver the research began. Not only is Ivan involved in the adult industry, but he also works in mainstream horror movies. Adult industry films allow him to utilize his creativity while mainstream movies are a tangible creation he can share with his family.
“A labor of love” is how he refers to his career. This alone speaks volumes of his character and work ethic. To be successful in the adult industry one must be liked and treat others fairly. Ivan’s career longevity is not only due to his education, talent, and work ethic, but also his ability to create symbiotic relationships within the adult industry. At the Puba network there are no contracts like at other adult industry studios where a year contract is common place. Ivan stated in a matter of fact tone,”If the girls are happy they stay. Why would we want to keep girls under contract who are not happy?”
Happiness of the actual adult industry workers is rarely openly discussed. Exxxotica Denver was a rare moment when I had the privilege to witness the joy of adult entertainers while surrounded by each other and their fans. There were no awards to foster competition or jealousy at Exxxotica Denver. Therefore, this was the most lighthearted adult convention I have been to yet.
“It was a great crowd I can’t wait till next year to go back and see all the new people who will come.” ~Mike Falk (@Way2Broad)
Everyone needs a sense of community, even adult industry member and adult stars. Exxxotica conventions throughout the year and nation bring us all together to celebrate the lives we live against the grain of society. When your career is what you do for work and not your lifestyle, anything is possible in the adult industry.
