#MeToo

The Me Too movement has been an eye-opening experience for many people. After a career in the adult industry, I could write a novel on assault, abuse, and patriarchal male entitlement. However, just because I retired I am still not retired from dealing with the shit men pull or try to pull. The sad part is most of them do not even realize what they are doing.

Social media is something I have been actively focusing on. Well with growth comes new people/men. I hate social media for work because of the stupid comments made mostly by men. For something that was made for fun, being social on social media is far from fun. The most common comment I hate is, “But you still look good.”

  • First of all, I did not stop stripping because I suddenly got fat and ugly.
  • Just because I was a sex worker who retired does not mean I have lost my sexuality.
  • I am under no obligation to put on my warpaint(makeup) to be appealing to the average man.
  • Why would I want to get all made up for social media(which is free) when I spent a decade in black lights fake as a wedding cake for a job?
  • Who the fuck are these men to comment on my career decision-making?

Even till this day men, their entitlement issues, and inferiority complexes are something I have to bypass in order to succeed. I did avoid the abusive patriarchy by avoiding public social media and the general public for the first couple years after I retired from stripping. However, I am tired of isolating myself so I no longer have to deal with entitled men. It is time to live like females rule the world.

Close your legs and open your hand, nothing in this life is free!

Strip Club Journals Unbound April

Katie Sutra is a well known name in the strip club industry for years now. She has been a stripper/dancer in the adult industry for over fifteen years and featuring dancing for four of those years. She has won multiple titles within the strip club industry, starting with Miss Pole Champ USA 2012. This was the door opening moment in her career which lead her to feature dancing. Having never been an adult actress Katie Sutra is an exception to the rule when it comes to feature dancers.

Katie Sutra started stripping right out of high school. Working part time at Publix was not going to get her a house after finishing high school and to where she wanted to be. Although she never took professional dance classes growing up, Katie Sutra was into art, drama, and choir as a child. She utilized these skills when she started stripping and had to get used to being the center of attention.  Pole dancing was something she learned at work, teaching herself during her shifts at the strip club. Also, this was a time when not many dancers did pole tricks. Thus, this was what made her stick out from the rest on stage and in the strip club, besides her cute petite hour glass figure(standing less than five feet tall).

Feature dancing was something Katie Sutra was interested in for years before she actually started. However, the people she interacted with along the way told her it would not be possible to feature dance unless she did at least one porn scene(for over a decade this took place). Knowing this was not the whole truth Katie Sutra continued to work her way to the best of the best in the strip club industry. After winning Miss Pole Champ USA 2012 she went on to win multiple other titles as she also started to feature dance. She had found her way in without having to enter the pornography niche of the adult industry. The odds were not in her favor and the easy way would have been to do a couple porn scenes. However, Katie Sutra stood up for what she believed in and for her own personal boundaries. Yet she still made it to become one of the best of the best. In any industry it is taboo to go against the grain and still reach the top. Even though our whole industry(the adult industry) is taboo, we still have a “normal” progression in a career path in the adult/strip club industry.

Now imagine that there was/is a way to connect with others in the strip club industry nationally, as there is now with Wiazza.com:  “The LinkedIn of the strip club industry.” Had this been around a decade ago perhaps Katie Sutra would have been able to network with other like minded individuals in the strip club industry, which would have allowed her to design her plan of action to become one of the best of the best in a more timely fashion.

Wiazza.com is a brand new social media site. This site was created to be used by the strip club industry exclusively. Djs, bartenders, bouncers, bloggers, journalists, photographers, feature dancers, strippers, traveling strippers, door girls, cocktail waitresses, recovering strippers, and anyone else working in the strip club industry finally has a platform to utilize each others knowledge and information about the industry. A platform to meet other individuals in the strip club industry we would otherwise have no access to.

Many small town strip clubs do not provide the opportunity to meet the diversity found in the strip club industry nationally. What if you are new to the strip club industry and would like to try traveling, where would you turn/start? Well, now finally dancers/strippers have the opportunity to network not just in person, but also online in order find the information they desire. Long money is the goal when working in a strip club, (though it is hard to see when you are nude in plastic six inch heels). The stigma of the strip club industry will follow you for a lifetime. The degree will varying depending on the position you held in the strip club industry and the person/people you are addressing. Therefore, it is our own responsibility to monetize the strip club industry as much as possible in our favor and work smarter rather than harder(pun intended).

Make connections and monetize your career in the strip club industry in as many ways as possible. Not all money or exposure is going to be made in the black lights of a club for the best of the best. If you have not seen or heard what others are experiencing in the industry than how do you know your experience is as amazing as it could be, even if it is great now in your point of view.

Make connections, get exposure, monetize your career, and make some friends along the way! http://www.Wiazza.com

Three years ago

Sitting on my bed in Oregon with a laptop on a rainy fall evening. A stranger messaged me on Facebook. This was and is a very common occurrence. However, little did I know this person would become apart of my heart and life for years to come.

A young 19 year old boy from southern California who was/is pursuing a music career had read my blog and found me on Facebook. This was a little unsettling, because readers normally assume they know it all about me. When in reality I just allow them a window into my heart and soul, not an all access pass. After we chatted for awhile, I knew he and I had/have similar outlooks on our careers. We both loved to entertain and shine on stage and off. Not many people can relate to this feeling. It is this energy that keeps entertainers alive and motivated.

Finding someone who can relate to being in the public eye and is passionate about what they create is rare. Many people seek fame. I seek success and have a need to be surrounded by positive people. These people are rare and hard to find. Yet, I found one from California in my bedroom in Oregon on a rainy fall evening.
